Two appl i cati ons of intention were submi tted for fundi ngwithin two to three months of each other; why? After consultation with HUD and Metro Council, UAC felt it
would be best to drop number of units in order to creatd
more "open " s pace and rel i eve conges ti on on s i te.
HUD said UAC could come back with second stage Iater; not real 1ythinking that far ahead. Decision would depend on what happens
wi th the I75 units now pl anned.

Holl are such "'leaders " chosen?Existing organ'i zations of the community will have the
opportunity to nominate candidates for a Board of Directors,
Board makes pol i cy for management and then hi res techni calpeople to implement. HllD has a model contract which is
recommended.
Corporation varies from five to sixteen people; depends on sizeto some extent but mostiy on the w'i llingness of the community toparticipate; the more conmunity input the better.

At what point in the process is corporation formed?
Can begin as soon as UAC has "firm" commitment from federal
government (which will fol tow that of nunicipality), Theyget tentati ve commi tment fron the feds , 90 back wi th detai I ed

Then, hopefully, comes the firm funding cornmitnent. At thatpoint corporation can be formed,

Much heated discussion on the need to prove the UFA's ability tofuncti on as competent devel opers and corporate managers (both i nthe past and in the present). AIso, need for spelling out oftheir "recreational " site plans and the fact of an absolute mustfor transit service to that area. "Pol ished" motion, in formfor submission to Village Council attached to these minutes.
Apologies to my fellow commissioners; I'm taking the perogative
as the iady who pushes the penciI around to drop the "discussion"

and so did I; looked ten times worse in print. I sincerely hopethe final make up of the motion meets with your approvali if not, please don' t tel I me abo ut it--I cry easy!!!
