Council will beinvited to the meeting. Planning Commission will also be notified. Discussion: Since MHRC sowed the hous i ng s eed, we have been di rectedto look into all facets of subsidized housing, including HRA, and directed to give recommendations and comments on 235 or 236proposals submitted to the Counci l. 0nce the groundwork has beenwell laid a housing steering committee should be appointed allowingthe Commission to retire from the housing scene. The topic is toobroad, important, basic and time consuming(and will prove to be moreso in the future)to aliow for part time attention. As housing takesalI our time and attenti on, we become in essence a "housing" commission rather than a "human relationsrr commission. The proper time for a steering committee will present itself in the not toodistant future. In the meanwhile we will continue to do our best. Forest Green: Paul Lowrey wi I I draft and submi t to Don Ashworth,for inclusion in Council mailings prior to either August lTth Council meeting or the latest September 7th Council meeting, MHRC commentary on the Forest Green proposal based on MHRC criteria and the information solicited from their representativesat a special meeting earlier this month. --Mrs. Larsen has vol unteered to be "delegate at l arge " to all State HR meeti ngs and speci fi ca11y voti ng de l egate to the League of MHRC meetings. She will check to see if that is in keeping with League rules. (I've since spoken to the executive secy of the League and he said that arrangenent is o.k.). Ifyou still want me I'll be happy to be your delegate. Housing l^lorkshop Plans--Dwight Jessup: Discussed the differentpossibilities for a housing workshop. Mr. Mottaz will be called to see if he is still'interested in Commission work. It will be recommended to the Council they appoint Mrs. Dorothy Johnson and Mr. Dan Nordgren to the MHRC for ful I three year terms commenci ng September, 1972. --Planning Commission "Plan": The plan which is to be submittedto our Counc i I shortly shouldbe thoroughly studied by the Commission prior to submission and any i nput we wish to make must be done quickly.
