Eric Blank, director of the Maplewood
Community Services Department, an-
nounced today that there are two current
vacancies on the Maplewood Parks and
Recreation Commission. At the Dec. 8
meeting of the commission,a resignation
was accepted which leaves a two-year
term open,the second vacancy is for a full
three-year term of service.
Membership on the commission is a
voluntary, non-salaried service to the
community.The commission functions as
an advisory body to the Maplewood city
council regarding all park and recreation
activities and welcomes input from the
residents in relation to land acquisition,
improvements, programs and all other
matters pertinent to the Community
Services Department of the City.
It is important that members of this
commission represent all districts of the
city and these two vacancies leave the
south area of our community without a
voice in these important matters.
All residents of Maplewood are invited
to submit their qualifications to serve on
the commission or to nominate fellow
citizens to fill the vacancies. Please
