on Beam rezone
A public hearing to consider a rezone
from Farm Residential(F-R)to Business
Commercial(BC)with an overlay district
on the south side of Beam ave., west of
White Bear ave., has been set for 7:30
p.m., Oct. 23.
The city council last Thursday night set
first reading of an ordinance to establish
the overlay district.
Previous attempts to rezone the
property to such designations as Limited
Business Commercial (LBC)have failed.
The property owners have argued that
any zoning less than BC would make it
impossible to break even when paying up
assessments for road improvement and
utilities.
The development of an overlay zoning
district for the Maplewood Mall area had
been referred to the city Planning
Commission.
