HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016 12-12 Rain garden planted int he rain MAPLEWOOD REVIEW Rain garden planted in the rain Submitted by admin on Wed, 10/12/2016 - 12:00am The Rotary Club of North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale planted a pollinator rain garden in the rain Sunday, September 25 at the Rotary Park located in North St. Paul on Second Street North and North St. Paul Drive near the Gateway Trail. Rotarians and their families planted 390 native plants and 17 shrubs including marsh milkweed, black-eyes susans, cardinal flowers, joe-pyeweed and prairie blazingstar in addition to numerous native grasses. The rain garden at Rotary Park was designed to be pollinator friendly and to have different plants blooming throughout the growing season.The Rotary Club completed this project with the help of the Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District, Ramsey Conservation District, N. St. Paul Public Works, Outback Nursery and Ramsey County Corrections for their help with this project.
