Open houses for Rush Line Corridor
Transit Study
Submitted by admin on Wed, 11/16/2016 - 12:00am
The Rush Line Corridor is an 80-mile travel corridor between St. Paul and Hinckley. A transit study is
underway to analyze bus and rail transit alternatives between Forest Lake and Union Depot in St. Paul.
The study builds upon previous work completed for the corridor and will identify one mode and one
alignment for adoption as the corridor’s locally preferred alternative. The transit study is a joint local and
regional planning effort conducted by the Rush Line Corridor Task Force and led by the Ramsey County
Regional Railroad Authority.
Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority will host a series of open houses to provide updates on the
Rush Line Corridor Transit Study. Discussions have been taking place with residents, business owners,
other stakeholders and policy makers about the various route and transit vehicles options being
considered for the Rush Line Corridor. The open houses will provide updates about recent project
information including details related to cost, ridership, benefits and impacts of each of these options, and
collect public feedback.
The open houses will include activities such as information boards and models of portions of the corridor
to visualize what improved transit may look like. Rush Line project team members will be at the open
houses and there will be lots of time for informal conversation and questions.
The November open houses are geared toward specific neighborhoods along the different route options.
The open houses in December will include a presentation followed by a question and answer session.
Information about the open houses and study materials are also available on the Rush Line Corridor
website, www.rushline.org.
