Operation Christmas Child

Volunteers were on hand to collect shoeboxes at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, a drop-off site in
Maplewood for Operation Christmas Child. Over 700 boxes, filled with toys, school supplies and
hygiene items for children living in poverty overseas, lined the sanctuary before Sunday’s big
day. Samaritan’s Purse, Twin Cities residents are rallying with hopes of contributing 90,000
shoeboxes toward the 2016 global goal of reaching 12 million children. Gethsemane students had
a box packing day and dedicated their chapel offerings. The church also took up a collection.
