A breakdown of that petition revealed

The original proposal was to rezone the
entire area from R-1 (residential use) to
LBC (limited business commercial). The
zoning would have allowed a strip of
professional office type structures to be
developed.
BUT THE COUNCIL decided not to
allow the entire area to become LBC.
Some southerly properties on the west
side of White Bear in the described area
were allowed to be changed. Others were
allowed to remain residential.
Council action, however, is not com-
plete since a first reading of the zone
change was authorized, but a second and
final one will be required later.It will take
a minimum of 30 days before that can
happen.
