Maplewood mayor Lester G. Axdahl
announced his intention Monday to file for
election to the office of State Represen-
tative in new District 50B.
Axdahl, who lives at 2209 Payne ave.,
said he would prefer to see local govern-
ment become more influential, rather
than have regional and state level
governmental bodies become more
•g powerful. Local government is more
responsive to the needs of the public and
easier for them to reach, Axdahl said.
