candidacy for legislature
with the Ramsey County
auditor.

race in District 50B.
The filing of Axdahl and
five other persons since
Monday brings to 28 the
number of candidates who
have filed in Ramsey
County so far for the Sept.
12 primary election.
Also filing Monday and
today were incumbents
Ray W. Farley,Represen-
tative
epresen-tative District 63:1, and
Donald Moe. Representa-
tive District 65fI.

A 31-year-old Duluth ra-
dio broadcaster filed Mon-
day as a candidate for the
8th District congressional
seat held by Rep. John
Mat nik.D-Minn
Ray Murdock, host of a
talk show on Duluth radio
station WDIO, said he will
run against lilatnik, who
has not yet announced his
political plans. Murdock
said -it was his first politi-
cal experience and that he
would run as a Democrat.
Michael R. Sieben, 26,
Newport, today an-
nounced his candidacy for
the state House of Repre-
sentatives from District
51B (southern Washington
County).
A graduate of the Uni-
versity of Minnesota Law
School, he has served as a
researcher for the Minne-
sota Constitutional Study
Commission and was ap-
poirted'`by Gov. Wendell
Anderson to the Higher
Education Facilities Au-
thority. He is a brother of
freshman Liberal state
Representative Harry Sie-
ben Jr.,Hastings.
Mrs. Mary Peek, 49,
Grey Cloud Island, also
has filed for the House
from District 51B. Neither
she nor Sieben were en-
dorsed at a recent Wash-
ington County DFL en-
dorsing convention, but
both received substantial
support.
Mrs. Peek, active in pol-
itics for many years on
the county and area level,
helped form the Minneso-
t.a, Wo ma n's Political
Caucus and has been ac-
tive in the DFL Women's
Caucus.
State Sen. Jack Davies,
Minneapolis Liberal. filed
for his fifth term Monday.
Davies, 40, is the DFL-en-
dorsed candidate from the
60th legislative district.
