DropRa a Demands
Garbage haulers have for increased rates in Ma-
apparently dropped or plewood.
forgotten their demands Six months ago they
claimed that the $12.50
charge for disposal of 50
plastic bags filled with
garbage wasn't enough.
Some of them urged a
100 per cent increase in
the fee.
So the Village Council
appointed a committee—
headed by Charles Brady
— to check into the merit
of the haulers'request.
"We asked the haulers
too provide us with more
detailed information,"
Brady reported.
Only one hauler, Rich-
ard Wybierala of Poor
Richard Inc.,responded.
"And the information he
gave us was quite ridicu-
lous,"Brady said.
In recent months, he
said, the committee
hasn't "heard a peep"
from the haulers.
Meanwhile, the "limited
information" collected by
the committee was sent to
Village Manager Michael
Miller,Brady said.
"Miller told me that as
long as the haulers aren't
pushing, let's sit on the
matter," he added. "So I
don't think there'll be any
rate increase in the near
future."
