John Hunter Sr., 47, of Eagan was sentenced in federal court to 70 months in prison for the crime, which netted him more than $200,000 in fraudulent tax returns, according to the U.S. Attorney's District of Minnesota's Office. Jurors in December 2015 found Hunter had filed tax returns that claimed far more income than he earned in 2009 as a bouncer for Club Rage Inc. The company was at the time the owner of Myth nightclub in Maplewood. Hunter also filed fraudulent returns in 2010 and 2012 in the names of dozens of other people, recruiting the filers and offering to do the paperwork for them but faking their wage and employment information. He was convicted of filing at least 45 such returns. Morino Eccher contributed to this report. Tags: Crime, Maplewood Sarah Hornerjoined the Pioneer Press in 2011.
