Maplewood kid council
Kids ages 11 through 13 can join the Kid City art-
ists to brainstorm, improvise and act out ideas about
the city to share with mayor Slawik. Participants will
play theater games to dream up real.-life solutions to
challenges in Maplewood, but no theater experience
is needed. Kid council will meet Aug. 8-12 from 1:30
to 4:40 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 2220 Edger-
ton St., St. Paul. Space is limited, and registration is

• Tasty treats from the bees — July 30 from
10 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 4 to 10 with an adult.
Taste different kinds of honey, and sample
food pollinated by bees such as blueberries and
raspberries. Learn about different kinds of bees
and why they are important. We'll do an easy and
fun citizen-science pollinator survey to help the
bees. Prepay$5/person by Thursday,July 28.
•Junior volunteers — 10 a.m. to noon for ages
10 to 14 (ages 14-15 may apply to be assistant
leaders.)
