Christiansen told the council:
"The $152,000 is the big bone of
contention."
He said he didn't object to pay-
ing a percentage of the cost of
oversizing the pipe for trunk
sewer.
But the council decided to
stick with the trunk sewer and
the previously-approved financ-
ing arrangement.
Overall cost of the project is
expected to be about $380,000.
The city's estimated share is
$154,000, which includes much of
the cost of oversizing for the
trunk sewer size. The remainder
is to be assessed to other proper-
ty owners.
Construction on the sewer has
not begun because it is con-
tingent upon the developer
agreeing to pay the share set out
by the city.
Neither the city nor the de-
veloper indicated what the next
step will be. Ken Haider of the
city engineer's office said that if
the project is not underway by
next September the previous ap-
proval expires.
