The tabling followed questions '
raised by Public Safety Director
R.W.Schaller. He recommended
that the application be denied
because Tuenge has declared in
a statement of assets that part of
his financing for buying the
lounge would include an un-
secured $10,000 loan from Earl
Montpetit.
Schaller objected because
Montpetit has various liquor in-
terests in the St.Paul area.
"We've done everything we
can to bring our application up
to date," said Tuenge. "I don't
know why anybody is against an
unsecured loan."
Tuenge pointed out that he and
Marlow are the sole sharehold-
ers of the Minnesota corporation,
Timark, Inc., which would oper-
ate the lounge.
In reply to council questions,
City Attorney Donald Lais also
noted, "The fact that someone
loans money to another doesn't
mean the person has a legal in-
terest in the businPQc"
