Maplewood Nature Center
Maplewood Nature Center & Neighborhood Preserves, 2659 East Seventh Street in Maplewood offers these events:
. Peer into the pond — May 28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This is free for all ages, children accompanied by adult. Join
the naturalist on the boardwalk to catch, identify and release water bugs, minnows and other pond minibeasts. View
your critter live under a microscope. Drop-in program on boardwalk
• Waterfest, "make a splash" — June 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free for all ages at Lake Phalen Pavilion. Come for
Canoe rides, fishing lessons, swimming, bouncy castle, games, school exhibits, live animals, music and dance
performances, fair food trucks, fishing contest, and so much more. Enjoy the day on the lake with indoor and

Maplewood Nature Center is a 40 -acre preserve operated by the City of Maplewood and is open Tuesday through
Saturday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Nature Play Yard adjoins the Visitor Center. Trails wind through oak woods and
marsh and are open every day from dawn to dusk. Use of facilities is free of charge. For more information about

Spring tea in the barn
The Maplewood Area Historical Society is hosting an Alice in Wonderland themed tea event May 28, at the
Bruentrup Heritage Farm, 2170 Count Rd. D E., Maplewood. Guests are encouraged to come wearing their best
spring hat. A silent auction will be held to benefit the Maplewood Area Historical Society. Seating will be at 11:30
a.m., and tickets cost $30. To register, call Mary O'Malley at 651-330-3862.
