Police have still not determined what led to the deaths of a man and woman found inside a Maplewood motel Wednesday afternoon.
The two were found clothed and lying in a bed inside a room at the Northernaire Motel about 2 p.m. after an employee discovered them unresponsive and called police,
said Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell.
The man and woman, who were described as friends, reportedly checked in to the motel the previous evening, Schnell said. A search oftheir room did not uncover anything
that would "immediately indicate a cause of death," Schnell said.
Police do not suspect foul play, and Schnell said no drugs or paraphernalia were found in the room.
Toxicology reports are pending.
The names and ages ofthe pair are expected to be released this afternoon.
The motel is located at 2441 W. Maplewood Drive, just off U.S. 61 north of Minnesota 36.
