HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978 02-01 Variance denied THE REVIEW Variance denied Richard Novak was denied permission to build on an unimproved street at the Maplewood City Council meeting,Jan.2l. Requesting approval of three variances to construct a single family home on a lot with substandard area and without fronting on a paved street, Novak hoped to begin building before December of 1978. The council approved the variance for building on a lot of land less than the 10,000 square feet that the City Code states. The other two variances that Novak requested were denied however. These were the variance that the city enter an agreement with Talmadge Carey, owner of Carey Heights Drive, so that Novak could have use of this privately owned road, and the variance that would allow Novak to build on a lot that does not have access to a street or highway. By unanimous vote, Councilman Wiegert's motion to approve the lot variance and in the same motion to deny the other variances, was carried.
