Dec. 30, leaving them unharmed but without a truck. s The thin ice was discovered by Richard Freeman,319 Burr St.,St.Paul when he, :'114 1.,.,,,.t , :t.Mark Zuercher and Dick Lawler at _ tempted to drive on the lake. The three +j men had intended to check out the fishing ; and thought that the ice was safe because ` � l ` there were other cars parked by fish ` y`; $ houses on the lake. About 300 feet off the shore the 1976 - ` Ford F 250 truck crashed through the ice. +- Freeman and his passengers escaped the . sinking truck with no difficulty. " "We were driving out and the ice just , .,:•, „ crashed through," Freeman recalled the experience.The truck remained locked in / .,.... *, the ice with part of the cab and bed visible. A tow company was called to pull the truck out but was not able to do the job until about 1 am. Tuesday, Jan. 3. The truck was exte , ' / '' i nsively damaged while being pulled out of the ice. The exact amount of damage has not been deter mined. THIN ICE was discovered by Richard Leroy Freeman, 319 Burr St., St. Paul when he drove his pick-up truck on Lake �,., 3 Gervais. The 1976 Ford F 2500 truck ; crashed through the ice Dec.30.Freeman ° F and his two passengers, Mark Zuercher and Dick Lawler were able to escape the truck unharmed as it sank through the ice.
