HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978 03-22 Public Notices THE REVIEW public notices THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOD REQUESTS PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PROPOSALS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (COBOl PROGRAM(HUD) The primary objective of the CDBG program is the development of viable communities by providing decent housing,economic opportunities and a suitable living environment principally for persons of low and moderate incomes. in order to achieve this objective the Department of Housing and Urban Development makes available 100 percent grants on a competitive basis for small corn- munities. Eligible activities are: acquisition and sale of property for the provision of public facilities or services such as: senior centers,parks,neighborhood centers, centers for handicapped,solid waste disposal facilities, fire protection, parking, public utilities, water and sewer,streets,malls,flood and drainage,public ser- vices, relocation payments, non-federal cost share, housing rehabilitation, code enforcement, historic preservation, economic development, comprehensive planning and program administration. Items not eligible are:general government buildings, exhibition halls,spectator sport facilities,schuols and education buildings,airports,hospitals,nursing homes, sewage treatment works, operating or maintenance expenses, new housing construction, general govern- ment expenses and politicaiactivities. Citizens are encouraged to offer suggestions and proposals concerning CDBG activities for Maplewood. A public hearing for this purpose will be held on Thursday,April 6, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. In the City Mall Council Chambers,.1380 Frost Avenue, Maplewood, Minnesota.Minutes of the hearing and accompanying information will be open to public Inspection during regular office hours,from 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. Written proposals will be accepted before 5:00 p.m., April 13,1978.Please forward to:Michael Miller,City Manager, 1380 Frost Avenue, Maplewood, Minnesota 55109. (Review:March 22,1978) ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS ONE(I)FRONT MOUNTED ROTARY MOWER FOR THE CITY OF MAPLE WOOD,MINNESOTA The City Council of Maplewood will receive sealed bids for furnishing and delivery of ONE (1) FRONT MOUNTED ROTARY MOWER complete and ready for operation. Bids will be received until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 1978, at the City Hall, 1300 Frost Avenue,Maplewood,Minnesota at which time and place the bids shall be opened,read aloud,and considered. Proposal forms, including specifications,are on file and may be obtained at the office of the Maplewood Community Services Department. Proposals must be made on the forms as furnished,and shall be submitted to the Director of Community Services on or before the time stated above.Proposals must be placed in a sealed envelope with an indication thereon stating,"Proposal for ONE (1) FRONT MOUNTED ROTARY MOWER contained herein," and addressed to the City of Maplewood,1380 Frost Avenue,Maplewood,Minnesota 55109. All bids must be accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check, or bid bond, payable to the City of Maplewood,in the amount equal to Five Percent(5)of the total bid.
