A day-long celebration of July 4
will take place in two east com-
munity neighborhood.
Dan Witkowski,a well-known
magician,headlines activities at
Wakefield Park,Prosperity and
Frost avenues,Maplewood,with
his show at 1 p.m.Other activities
include:Maplewood Community
band,family sing along,softball
tournaments,arts and crafts
show,puppet shows,kid games,
adult games and canoeing.
The events will come to a close
with the annual fireworks display
at 9:45 p.m.
Meanwhile,citizens in Wood-
bury will celebrate the Fourth of
July with activities beginning at
6:30 p.m.in Ojibway Park,just
east of Woodbury Senior High
School.There will be a variety of
games for children of all ages and
prizes for the winners.
The Woodbury Senior High Dix-
ieland Band and the Ken Mahler
Trio will provide musical enter-
tainment beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The band concert will take place
in the new bandstand,located
southeast of the Ojibway Park
Activities Building.Refresh-
ments will be sold by the Commu-
nity Club,Lions Club and Jaycees.
Fireworks in the park are
planned for 10 p.m.
