Allina Health will collect bicycle donations for kids in need from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m.,Saturday,Oct. 11,
at locations across Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
New or gently used bikes are accepted at 47 Allina Health hospitals and clinics,including sites in
Minneapolis, Blaine, Burnsville,Coon Rapids, Eagan,Farmington and Maplewood. Free Bikes 4
Kids will give free T-shirts to the first 50 donors at each location.
"We want to help make it possible for every child to have a bike and participate in a healthy,fun
and environmentally-friendly activity,"said Kenneth H. Paulus,CEO of Allina Health,in a press
release.
This is Allina Health's fourth partnership with Free Bikes 4 Kidz,a nonprofit organization that aims
to improve children's health by providing bikes to those in need. Last year,they collected more
than 6,000 bikes.Allina Health also provides free helmets and concussion prevention information
to children.
Those interested in volunteering with Free Bikes 4 Kids to prepare the bikes for distribution in
December can visit FB4K.org.
