The St. Paul City Council has given its blessing to the Gateway Corridor Commission's proposed
transit route from downtown St. Paul to Washington County.
The commission envisions a Bus Rapid Transit line that would operate in a dedicated lane north of
Interstate 94 through St. Paul's East Side, Maplewood, Landfall, Oakdale and Lake Elmo. At a still
undetermined location, it would then cross to the south side of the interstate into Woodbury,
ending at Manning Avenue.
Cities along the Gateway Corridor are being asked to vote on the "locally preferred alternative."
The proposal passed the council on Wednesday without objection.
