Signs of spring were evident out at Maplewood Nature Center Green Heron Trail March 12. The quiet
solitude was only broken by the sounds of the birds, ducks, and geese. Now is also prime time for the
sap flow and maple syrup classes. It takes 30-40 gallons of maple tree sap boiled down to make one
gallon of syrup.
