MAPLEWOOD KIDNAPPING The woman told police she was leaving the fitness club on White Bear Avenue and County Road 0 at 8 p m. Sunday when a man got into the passenger seat of her car as she was getting into the driver's seat. The suspect was wearing a ski mask,surgical gloves end carrying a handgun,which he threatened to use. The suspect ordered the woman to drive him to various locations within Maplewocd.He also told her he intended to rape her.The victim fold police she talked with the man and,eventually,he asked to be dropped off near County Road C and While Bear Avenue. The suspect in this case was also wearing latex gloves and matched the same general physical description. e"Attempted rapist pave chase He reportedly told the woman he wanted to have sex with her and forced her to drive to a parking lot west of North High School and turn oft the car.He then grabbed her but she was able to escape.The suspect then Fled in her car. "In spite of the tact that incidents of this nature are very rare,the actions of this armed suspect are obviously dangerous,making his identification and arrest it top priority,"said Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell.
