This month,Maplewood
is switching from recycling
bins to larger carts with lids.
Through March, Tennis
Sanitation,the city's recy-
cling contractor,will deliver
standard carts,which are
brown with an orange lid.
During a regularly sched-
uled recycling pick up day,
65-gallon carts will be deliv-
ered to single-family homes
and 35-gallon carts will be
delivered to townhomes and
manufactured homes.
There is no additional cost
to residents for the upgrade;
residents pay a quarterly
recycling fee ($8.82 every
three months),with their
water bills.
Residents are encouraged
to test the carts for three
months. After the initial
three months,residents can
request a cart size change
with up to two free changes
Per property
Tennis will charge$25 for
additional changes.
If a property is sold or
transferred,the new owner
will be offered the same
changes for free.
Resident can keep the old —
bins or place them upside
down at the curb on recy-
cling day.Tennis will recycle
them.
