REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
The City Council of. Maplewood,
Minnesota will receive proposals for
the creation of the Parks System
Master Plan.

Maplewood Parks and Recreation
Master Plan Update
The City of Maplewood invites
qualified park planning. firms to
submit a proposal, including a fee
schedule, for consulting services to
prepare a comprehensive
masterlsystem plan update for
Maplewood Parks and 'Recreation.
The updated Parks and Recreation
System Master Plan must:
1.: Establish a clear vision for the
Maplewood. parks, recreation, open
space, cultural, historical,
preservation, public art, trail and'
bikeway systems to meet current
and future community'needs keeping
in mind inclusion for all residents;
2. . 'Establish a -detailed
implementation program . for
achieving the plan's vision including
developing individual park. concept
Master..-, Plans, recommending
construction phases,
estimate the annual costs as well as
.out potential funding source's;
3. Establish documented capital
funding priorities for improvements
and acquisitions to the Parks and
Recreation System;
4. Establish documented _
programming priorities, for the Parks
and Recreation System;
5: Evaluate existing Park and
Recreation System : features,
amenities and services related to' .
peer communities and accepted
national standards to , identify
problems and potentials;
6. Identify the Parks and Recreation
.,.
System needs, desires and interests
of the community today and in the
future based on anticipated
demographic, economic and
sociologic changes;
7. Establish documented - policies
and. priorities for preserving and
restoring existing natural features
and amenities for the benefit of the
community as a whole.
The project is to begin on or about
April 14, 2014 and be completed by
.October 31, 2014.
