Maplewood police responded to a report of a robbery in the 1700 block of Gervais Avenue around 1 p.m. Jan. 2 where they
found a 75 -year-old woman who reported she was held at gunpoint, robbed and strangled.
A release form the Maplewood Police Department said the victim reported she answered her door and was met by a woman
who asked to use the phone. When the victim refused to let the woman into her house, the woman pulled a handgun on the
victim and entered the home.
Once inside, the woman made a phone call using her cellphone and shortly thereafter, two men arrived and entered the
house, according to the release. One of the men tied the victim's hands and they ransacked her house. The intruders took
jewelry, credit cards, keys and the victim's driver's license.
As the intruders left, the release said, one of the men told the victim to get on the floor before he used a piece of clothing to
choke her to unconsciousness.
As of Jan. 8, police report they've arrested two of three suspects allegedly involved in the home invasion, robbery and
assault.

The first suspect, Deandre Vershawn Wms, a 25 -year-old North St. Paul resident, was arrested Jan. 5, according to police.
He was identified after surveillance photos of him allegedly using stolen credit cards at stores was broadcast.
Wims was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and one count each of first-degree burglary and
kidnapping, as well as felony financial transaction card fraud. He was scheduled to appear in Ramsey County District Court
Jan. 8.
A second suspect, Shonice Lacyra Harmon, a 23 -year-old Minneapolis residentwho police say was the woman who
allegedly initially made contactwith the victim, was arrested without incident Jan. 6 by Ramsey County police during a traffic
stop in Minneapolis.
As of the deadline for this edition of the Bulletin, Harmon has yetto be charged with a crime, though investigators presented
evidence detailing her alleged role in the crime to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office Jan. 7.
Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell said in a statement the public's help has been key to the investigation.
"The progression of this investigation was greatly aided by the many tips we received since the initial release of the
surveillance images on [Jan. 4]," Schnell said. "The combination of an engaged public working collaboratively with local law
enforcement and other local governmental and non-governmental resources is, and always has been, key to building and
maintaining a safe community."
Police are still seeking a third unknown suspect at this time.
