The application deadline is September 4, 2015. In order to qualify an organization must be a non-profit corporation with an IRS 501(c) (3) designation serving the citizens of Maplewood. The first priority will be given to funding City of Maplewood organizations and second priority to organizations from outside the city proposing to meet the needs of Maplewood residents. In general, requests from organized athletic groups are not funded. The City Council awarded a total of $30,000 in Charitable Gambling Tax Funds in 2015. Funds went to the following groups: Ashland Productions, Boy Scout Troop 461, CHILD Inc., Dispute Resolution Center, District 622 Education Foundation, Ecumen Lakeview Commons, Friends of Maplewood Nature, Gethsemane Lutheran School, Hmong American Education Fund, LENA Youth Connect, Maple Tree Monastery Childcare Center, Maplewood Area Historical Society, Maplewood Monarchs S.O. Team, Maplewood Police Reserves, Maplewood Youth Scholarship Fund, Mounds Park Academy, Ramsey County Fair, SRAA (Senior Royalty Alumni Association), St. Jerome's Catholic School, St. Paul Educational Foundation, Tubman Family Alliance, Weaver Elementary School, Webster Elementary School, and White Bear Area YMCA. The funds are awarded by a vote of the Maplewood City Council. Applications are available on the city website wwwci.maplewood.mn.us or by calling Lois Knutson at 651.249.2051.The application deadline is September 4, 2015 (Review: July 29, Aug. 5, 12, 2015) CITY OF MAPLEWOOD PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE What is Being Requested? The City of Maplewood is proposing an amendment to its business commercial (BC) zoning district to permit temporary exterior sale of goods. Currently, a conditional use permit is required for all exterior sales of goods. Public Hearing Information The City Council will hold a public hearing to review the second reading of the proposed ordinance revision on Monday, August 24, 2015, at 7 p.m. or later in the Maplewood CityCouncil Chambers located at 1830 County Road B East. All interested parties may present their views orally or in writing. Sign language interpreters are available. You must request this service at least 96 hours in advance. Call the city clerk at 651-249-2001 to arrange this service.Assisted Listening Devices are also available. Please check with the city clerk for availability. Why this notice? The Maplewood city code requires that the city council hold a public hearing when considering ordinance revisions.
