ANNUAL PUBLIC INPUT MEETING
MAPLEWOOD'S STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM (SWPPP)

The Phase II National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Program (NPDES) requires the City to hold an annual public meeting.
The meeting will be held as part of the regular Environmental and Natural Resources Commission meeting in the council
chambers at City Hall. There will be a presentation of the city's Surface Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and time
will be set aside to solicit resident comments and input. Comments will be addressed, and may be incorporated into the city's
plan to preserve our water resources.

the engineering counter at the Public Works Building (next to City Hall).

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
What is Being Requested?
The City of Maplewood is proposing amendments to the city ordinances dealing with stormwater including stormwater
management, design, erosion control, and illicit discharge. Additionally, the City of Maplewood is proposing revisions to the
Maplewood Stormwater Management Standards. These standards are utilized in the design of stormwater systems in the City
of Maplewood. The proposed amendments to the city ordinances and the revisions to design standards are required by the
City's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).
Public Hearing Information
The City Council will hold a public hearing to conduct the first reading of the proposed ordinance revisions on Tuesday, May
26, 2015, at 7 p.m. or later in the Maplewood City Council Chambers located at 1830 County Road B East. All interested
parties may present their views orally or in writing. Sign language interpreters are available. You must request this service at
least 96 hours in advance. Call the city clerk at 651-249-2001 to arrange this service. Assisted Listening Devices are also
available. Please check with the city clerk for availability.
Why this notice?
The Maplewood city code requires that the city council hold a public hearing when considering ordinance revisions.

MUNICIPAL ELECTION 2015
FILING FOR CANDIDACY FOR CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
Eligible individuals desiring to become a candidate for Council Member are required to file an affidavit of candidacy with the
city clerk. Open for candidacy are positions of two council members. The term of office for these election positions will expire
December 31, 2019. The filing period opens on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, and will close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2,
2015.
Afiling fee of $5.00 or petition in place of the filing fee must be filed with the affidavit of candidacy. Petitions in place of the
filing fee must contain at least 500 signatures. Petitions may only be signed by persons eligible to vote for the candidate
named on the petition.
Candidates may withdraw from the ballot by filing an affidavit of withdrawal at any time during the filing period and until
Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 5:OOpm. Filing fees are not refundable.
Affidavits of candidacy, petitions, and affidavits of withdrawal must be presented in person or by mail. Fax documents are not
accepted. Affidavit of candidacy, petition, and withdrawal forms are available at city hall.
The office of the city clerk is located at Maplewood City Hall, 1830 County Road B East, Maplewood. The office will be open
for filings from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each day of the filing period except Tuesday, June 2, 2013, when the office will be
open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A list of candidates who have filed for office will be posted daily on the city website atwww.ci.maplewood.mn.us.
