He raped her anyway. And his friends helped. The 15-year-old girl, who had been drinking that night, didn't even know it had happened until she saw the video at school days later. A 20-year-old Maplewood man and a 15-year-old boy are charged with rape. Lavell Anthony Hollenbeck was charged Friday by the Ramsey County Attorney's Offce with five felony counts of criminal sexual conduct. The boy, whose name is not public because he's a juvenile, was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. "The rape of this 15-year-old girl is an unconscionable and disturbing act of violence perpetrated by the defendants,"Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said."We will work to hold all of the defendants accountable for their crimes and seek justice for the victim and our community." According to a criminal complaint: The girl went to a friend's house Oct. 15,a Thursday, where she and a group gathered and drank alcohol. She said she got drunk and passed out. When she woke up,she was covered in bruises and naked from the waist down. When the girl went back to school the next Tuesday, she"learned that someone had posted a sex video on Facebook,"the complaint said."The video showed(Hollenbeck)sexually penetrating her.The other juveniles in the video had their hands covering her mouth as she was telling him to stop." The video shows the girl trying to push Hollenbeck off of her, telling him to stop and saying,"Oww,"the complaint said. The defendant continued, made crude comments, referenced"Vill Gang"and flashed gang signs as his friends did the same and held the camera, the complaint said. The girl"did not appear to be fully coherent,"the complaint said. After he was arrested,Hollenbeck reportedly told police the girl had been flirting with him and wanted to have sex with him. "He admitted that she told him to stop, but he claimed that she said this because he'put it in too deep,'"the complaint said. "This investigator asked the defendant what it is called when a girl says stop and you don't stop,"the complaint said."(Hollenbeck)said,'I guess rape.'This investigator showed the defendant the portion of the video where she is pushing him off of her and he said,'She wasn't really pushing.'" Hollenbeck's first court appearance is Monday. Elizabeth Mohr can be reached at 651-228-5162. Follow her at twitter.com/LizMohr.
