� MAPLEWOOD,Minn.--Maplewood police say a 90-year-old man shot and killed his son Saturday evening.

According to Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell,Kenneth Bowser,90,called 911 saying he killed his 65-
� ' year-old son,Larry Bowser.
Authorities responded to the home on the 1200 block of Hilltop Court around 7:40 p.m.When they arrived,they
took Kenneth Bowser into custody without incident.

"The focus of investigators right now is to determine what happened,what led up to this shooting,"Chief
Schnell said.
Inside the home,they found Larry Bowser dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to Chief Schnell,the 90-year-oid used a handgun.He has been booked at the Ramsey County Jaii on suspicion of homicide.The Minnesota
Bureau of Criminal Apprehension processed the scene.
"There was some welfare check kind of calls that had come in here previousiy but nothing of any real consequence,"Chief Schneil said.
"Still feeling numb and in disbelief.Still in shock,"said Steve Bruner,a friend of Larry's who lives a block away from the father and son.
Bruner said Larry mowed his lawn,five hours before he died.He said Larry wouid often talk about his father's declining health.
"It was just difficult for him to take care of him,"Bruner said.
Bruner recalled the last conversation he had with Larry saying,"He thanked me.I'm like,'No Larry,thank you.You cut my grass.'And he goes,'No,thank
you.'ThaYs the kind of person he was." ,
According to Chief Schnell,the case will go to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office Monday morning.
Charges against Kenneth Bowser could come as early as Tuesday.
