HHW collection site on the move

If area residents are still spring-cleaning — or just discovering more "treasures" hidden in the garage — the Household
Hazardous Waste Mobile Collection site may be headed your way.
Many products you use to clean and maintain your home contain hazardous materials. These products are considered
household hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly.
Hours for the mobile collection site are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Starting in August, the mobile collection site will be at 848 Pleasant Ave., St. Paul, near the Linwood Community Recreation
Center.
In September, it will be at 1616 Como Ave., St. Paul.
And in October it will be at Aldrich Arena, 1850 White Bear Ave. N., Maplewood
The following items are accepted at Ramsey County collection sites.
• automotive products including fuels, brake fluid, gasoline, antifreeze, vehicle batteries and used oil and filters — keep fluids
in separate containers
• cleaning products including acids and other corrosive products, drain opener, oven cleaner, bathroom cleaners and rust
removers
• electrical products such as string lights or electrical cords
• home -improvement substances such as paint, paint thinner, solvents, adhesives, driveway sealant, wood preservatives,
wood stains lead paint chips and aerosol cans
• lawn and garden chemicals such as weed killers, insecticides, rodent poisons and pesticides
• mercury -containing items such as skin -lightening creams, old-fashioned thermometers, switches, thermostats, vapor lamps
and fluorescent lights
• rechargeable or "button" (hearing -aid) batteries
• pool chemicals
• propane tanks and gas cylinders

Televisions, computers and appliances are not accepted; neither is business waste. For information on disposing of business
waste, contact Ramsey County Environmental Health at 651-266-1199.
