A Maplewood mother who left her infant outside in a stroller on a freezing winter day was sentenced
Thursday to probation.
Alyssa Ann Rangel, 26, was charged in December with one count of gross misdemeanor child
endangerment.
Prosecutors said police found Rangel passed out in her Maplewood home, atop a 19-month-old child,
after they found a 7-month-old chi�d in a stroller in the driveway. It was about 2:40 p.m. Nov. 9 and the
temperature was in the 30s.
Rangel pleaded guilty in February and was sentenced Thursday.
The court issued a stay of imposition, meaning the charge wili be reduced to a misdemeanor if Rangel
completes probation.
