Joe Bergeron, who had served the city for 20 years. The City of Maplewood and Maplewood Police Department held a ceremony to retire his badge, number 357, at the police memorial created outside City Hall after his death. Mayor Nora Slawik reads the proclamation as Police Chief Paul Schnell holds it. Mayor Slawik presents the proclamation to Gail Bergeron along with the #357 badge. Two #457 badges were presented to Bergeron's daughters, as well. The service included Ramsey County Police Chaplain Bob Leo and the Minnesota Police Pipe Band.
