CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Heritage Preservation Commission was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and called to order by Chair Boulay at 7:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Commissioners Chairperson Peter Boulay Present Commissioner Robert Creager Present Commissioner Richard Currie Present Commissioner John Gaspar Present Commissioner Frank Gilbertson Absent Commissioner Brenda Rudberg Present Staff Natural Resources Coordinator, Ginny Gaynor Present 3. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Chair Boulay informed the commission that he would give the education committee report. Commissioner Currie requested that the fire station be added under new business 6a. Commissioner Creager moved to approve the agenda as amended. Seconded by Commissioner Currie Ayes – All The motion passed. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. July 9, 2015 HPC Meeting Minutes Commissioner Gaspar moved to approve the July 9, 2015 HPC Meeting Minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Boulay Ayes – Commissioner Creager, Commissioner Rudberg, Commissioner Gaspar, Commissioner Boulay Nays- Commissioner Currie The motion passed. 5. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Fire wÒ©7är{;¦·;,;© I;©z·m;t©;;©Ý·z/zza;;·zmazÒ·; Commissioner Currie moved to request that the city not change the Hazelwood Fire Station from #7 to #3. Seconded by Commissioner Creager. Discussion ensued. Commissioner Gaspar made a substitute motion to table the issue and to have staff provide background information at the next meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Creager. Ayes- All 7. OLD BUSINESS a. Research/Education Committee Report and Discussion (Commissioner Boulay) Commissioner Boulay presented information from the Education Committee on plans to develop 60 short pieces about Maplewood history. b. Fish Creek Archeological Dig Ginny Gaynor, Natural Resources Coordinator presented a summary of the Fish Creek Archeological Dig. c. Gladstone Savanna Update Ginny Gaynor, Natural Resources Coordinator presented an update on Gladstone Savanna. 8. MAPLEWOOD AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY UPDATE a. Maplewood Area Historical Society President, Bob Jensen, presented on Historical Society activities. 9. COMMISSION PRESENTATIONS a. Commissioner Creager requested that the Joy Brothers present at an upcoming meeting about Joy Park. 10. STAFF PRESENTATIONS 11. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Creager moved to adjourn the meeting.
