CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Commission was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and was called to order at 7:02 PM by Chairperson Danielson. B. ROLL CALL Commissioners Nate Danielson Chairperson Present Annastacia Belladonna-Carrera Commissioner Absent Jon Brandt, Commissioner Absent Sarah Deeny Commissioner Present Maurice Fortin Commissioner Present Marie Garza Commissioner Present Julie Xiong Commissioner Absent Staff Liaison Karen Guilfoile City Clerk/Staff Liaison Present Paul Schnell Police Chief Present C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Item G1: Public Official Conduct and the Open Meeting Law was removed from the agenda. Commissioner Deeny moved to approve the agenda as amended. Seconded by Commissioner Fortin Ayes - All The motion passed D. APP ROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approval of the June 10, 2014 HRC Minutes Commissioner Fortin moved to approve the June 10, 2014 HRC Minutes as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Deeny Ayes – All The motion passed E. NEW BUSINESS 1. Human Rights in the News – Review/Update on Upcoming Forums/Reports on Forums or Meetings Attended or Other Related HR Issues Commissioner Deeny reported on the Civil Rights Act legislation passed in 1964. Presentation on Integrative Youth Development Programming – Paul Schnell, Police Chief (No Report) Police Chief, Paul Schell spoke to the commission on the Youth Development Program and Maplewood’s “Rule of Five” F. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. Discussion of Future Goals for Upcoming Meetings Commissioners discussed progress on established goals and topics, including the community forum educating on the Integrative Youth Development Program.
