Introduction
The City Council will be conducting interviews of 1 candidate for an opening on the Housing &
Economic Development Commission and 2 candidates for openings on the Environmental &
Natural Resources Commission. These openings are due to terms expiring and resignations.
Budget Impact
None.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Council interview the candidates as indicated in the schedule below.
The suggested questions will be submitted under separate cover to the Council. During the
interview process, Council Members should fill out their ballots. Once the Interviews have
concluded, Council Members should submit their ballots to staff, which will be tallied with the
results brought back to the Council during the following regular meeting with recommendations
for appointments.

responsible manner. I have a personal & professional passion for this area of focus and believe my financial and
accounting background is an asset. To become an active participant in the development ofthe city in which I reside.

Providing analysis for and development of the Capital lmprovement Plan.

I currently participate in local/regional volunteer activities through my employer and most recently worked with Bridging
in Roseville, MN. Through my employer I have also signed up to participate in Junior Achievement which provides
entrepreneurship and financial literacy education to young students within the area.

It is my intention to provide a voice on lhis commission that is strong, positive, unafraid to ask "why?," and one that is
focused on providing actionable advice that will foster a greater l/aplewood. Paired with that, I also vow to listen, learn
and fundamentally understand all that is laid before me.

Performed technical and administrative duties regarding compliance and enforcement of
solid waste disposal rules. I conducted inspections of solid waste and demolition waste
facilities to evaluate compliance with applicable rules.
Coordinated the USEPA Clean Lakes Grant Program that involved the restoration and/or
rehabilitation of specific lakes in Minnesota. Processed grant payments to grantees for
work completed on restoration projects. I performed lake sampling for potential and
existing lake restoration projects.

The Maplewood Police Department has an active and fully engaged volunteer Police Reserve
Program that is an essential component of Maplewood’s policing strategy.

Each year, the Maplewood Police Department’s Reserve Unit provides thousands of hours of
service to the City.
An overview of the Police Reserve Program and its benefits, along with a description of the
future of the Reserve Program, will be provided.
