MINUTES MAPLEWOOD PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION 7:OOp.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013 Council Chambers, City Hall 1. CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and called to order by Chair Cockriel at 7:OOp.m. 2. Marshland Trail Updates Parks Manager, Jim Taylor, briefly updated the commission on the Marshland Trail System at the East Metro Training Facility and answered questions of the commission. b. Parks System Plan Update Parks Manager, Jim Taylor, updated the commission on the progress of the Parks System Plan and discussed it with the commission. c. Review of 2013 Goals Parks Manager, Jim Taylor, reviewed the Parks and Recreation 2013 Goals with the commission. The commission discussed the goals and made changes accordingly. 8. NEW BUSINESS a. Geranium Park Parks Manager, Jim Taylor, updated the commission on the progress on the installation of the playground equipment at Geranium Park. c. November ADA Meeting Parks Manager, Jim Taylor, updated the commission on the November ADA meeting that will be jointly held with the Maplewood Parks System Task Force. 10. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes M MEMORANDUM TO: Parks and Recreation Commission FROM: Jim Taylor, Parks Manager DATE: November 13, 2013 SUBJECT: Parks System Plan Update Introduction Currently, the Parks System Plan Task Force is in the process of making specific recommendations for the Parks and Recreation Commission to weigh in on. Attached you will find the preliminary recommendation list. Background Information on the community process and the information gathered can be found in the attached report. Recommendation No recommendation is needed at this time. The purpose of this is to update the Commission on the progress that the Parks Commission, Parks System Plan Task Force, and staff have made.
