I am applying for that appointment. My phil- osophy, although for the most part is in harmony with Mike's I am still my own person. I would study and do my homework so that I could effectively carry out policies that are in the best interests of the city and it's citizens. I am the third generation of my family to have lived in what is now Maplewood. Some of my activities in recent years are: 1. 15 years employed by School District #622 10 years as Cafeteria Manager at Tartan. 2. Active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. 3. Worked on many political campaigns. 4. Involved in civic and social organizations such as Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. 5. At the present time I am receiving training to produce public access TV programs with Group W Cable Television.. Our programs are related to public education. I have been a resident of Maplewood for 30 years and a homeowner for 9 years. My education was completed in the North St. Paul- Maplewood School District and I graduated from North St. Paul. High School in 19 73 . As you know I am currently serving on the planning commission. My experi- ences have given me a working knowledge of the current planning and develop- ment s of the City. Having been involved in many public hearings and council presentations I feel I could be of immediate assistance to the City kas a council member. Also I am a Maplewood Police Reserve Of f i cer. I work directly under the departments of Public Safety and Emergency Services. This. experience has shown to me how complex and vital these services are to citizens of a city. If it is in the best interest of the City, I would be willing to take a leave of absence from my other obligations. This would give me more time to devote to council matters.
